Started his career as a radio DJ in 1987 on legendary Brygga Radio in Tromsø. Torske became a producer/artist in 1991, and since then has released three albums and several remixes and singles. In his live set you will be able to hear morsels of old and new mixed together specially for the SEAS audience. You should expect quality dance music from his DJ set, everything from Bach to Neubauten, and very weird dub disco.
Pernille Sparboe
Recently, Pernille Sparboe has been receiving attention in Tromsø’s music scene, with her distinct voice and exceptionally high quality songs. Since 2008 she has played concerts in her hometown, both with a backing band and alone with only her voice and guitar. Pernille is a unique artist who manages to combine tough compositions with big hit-potential. The music is catchy and beautiful, and it feels so right! This accomplished musician does it all herself; she is the songwriter, composer, singer and guitarist. The result is new and exciting, while at the same time is within a known sound and format. This way she hits a nerve with a wide audience. This is an artist with great integrity, and with large potential.
Tom Opdahl has worked with music for a long time. He has been involved with everything from black metal to ambient electronica. In 2001 he released Black Smoker under the name Tom Opdahl, on Biophon Records. Since then he has worked with projects like Hammond Heads and Underverk.
Taigatrost is a new project from Tromsø, Norway, consisting of Anette Tunheim
Jakobsen and Gaute Barlindhaug.
Anette is a DJ who is seen as a driving force in Tromsø’s music scene.
Gaute has been working with electronic music since the early 90s, releasing
his first record in 94. Over the years he has been involved with several
projects such as Aedena Cycle, Alania and Kolar Goi, working with, amongst others, Svein Berge and Torbjørn Brundtland (later to become Røyksopp).
Pistol & Bart are a Tromsø based guitar/vocal duo, who have made a reputation for themselves within their genre. Which genre Pistol & Bart belong to, no one knows, but the music has been described by audiences and critics as intelligent singer/songwriter-hip hop. The duo call their concerts “fairytale evenings for grown-ups” and so far they have arranged these fairytale sessions in places ranging from intimate small bars to outdoor stages to the living room of our very own Mayor. It all started on a hot day in August 2007 when June joined Dagny’s class on the music course in Tromsø. It was not long before the two of them were hanging out together in PE lessons and sharing a desk in all the lectures. Both had previously written their own songs and played guitar.
2005-2007: Nordland College of Art and Film
Autumn 2008: Started the Bachelor Program by the newly started Academy of Fine Art in Tromsø.
Is going to be a painter. Is inspired by the bohemian, the romantic and expressionistic art. Has an intense interest in reading about rough painting styles and the excessive lives of artists. In between I make songs about sexual fantasies, desperation, the ‘civilisation and its discontents’ + other boys and girls.
Maximoist and Mini Moist have turned Tromsø upside down with their legendary Moist parties.
Maximoist has played and run clubs in cities including Cologne, Berlin, Rome, Buenos Aires and Munich.
Mini Moist, aka Bendiks, is currently Tromsø’s ambassador in Cologne. It has now been a year since the last Moist party and since they played together, so expect a banging night!
