Marie Askeland Gundersen
2005-2007: Nordland College of Art and Film
Autumn 2008: Started the Bachelor Program by the newly started Academy of Fine Art in Tromsø.
Is going to be a painter. Is inspired by the bohemian, the romantic and expressionistic art. Has an intense interest in reading about rough painting styles and the excessive lives of artists. In between I make songs about sexual fantasies, desperation, the ‘civilisation and its discontents’ + other boys and girls.
The compositions will be performed on an occult hexagon shaped stage, also called ‘the stage of fatal femme attention’. Motto: ‘Ego as media’. Is also a member of Midskills (http://myspace.com/midskills). Favourite artist at the moment: Elke Krystufek. Favourite author at the moment: Jon Øystein Flink: Sex, Marriage and Death. Favourite music at the moment: The Look of Love. Made some films with Camilla Fagerli (also a member of Midskills). Most notorious and popular at the moment is probably ‘I Feel I’m Carring on Something Big’, shown at NUFF 2007 and ‘Egen sexualitet’ shown at TIFF 2008. Finally a local contribution: Tromsø! Tromsø! Tromsø!
