Dmytro Bogomazov
Ukrainian director Dmytro Bogomazov made his directorial debut in 1993. He went on to direct numerous productions at The Kiev State Theatre for Drama and Comedy where he served as Artistic Director until 2000. In 2001 Bogomazov became the Artistic Director of Kiev´s newly opened municipal theatre, the Vilna Scena, The Open Stage, where he is active today.
Dmytro Bogomozov’s work is strongly visual. With stylised costuming, projections, effectual lighting, and non representational set design, a Bogomazov production is about as far as you can get from naturalism. An able navigator in the world of classical literature, Bogomazov is best known for productions of classical plays, his original interpretations giving them new relevance.
Bogomazov freely adapts literary works for the stage.
